• Carrots - contain vitamin A carotenoids. These phytochemicals have been shown to enhance the health of skin and repair it when it is damaged. Eat raw carrots (the "baby"kind are good) or drink carrot juice. If you don't like carrot juice (I don't blame you --yuck) try mixing it 50-50 with apple juice.
Although Cystic acne is resistant to many acne medications, there are treatments available that can help. Currently Accutane or Isotretinoin is the most common and effective treatment but the side effects can be severe. Don't fear the side effect though; all you need is a little help in understanding the things you can do to help prevent them.
Acne is most common in adolescent boys , but it can occur in both sexes and at all ages. The tendency to acquire acne is inherited. The condition commonly appears at puberty and can continue for many years. Three out of four teenagers have acne to some extent, probably caused by hormonal changes that activate the sebaceous (oil secreting) skin glands. Other hormonal changes that happen with menstrual periods, pregnancy, use of birth control pills, or stress, also aggravate acne.
